Did you fellow Malaysians realized that Malaysia online newspapers such as The Star Online, Berita Harian Online, Utusan Online and myMetro are getting more annoying lately? It is not because of their news content, but their advertisement.
For example, yesterday when I tried to access myMetro online. Instead of supposedly displaying their main page, these advertisement came out:
myMetro annoying advertisement No. 1 - This advertisement appeared before the main page.
After annoyingly clicked the close button, only then the real myMetro main page appeared. But the misery doesn’t ends there, because not long after the page finished loading, these appeared:
myMetro annoying advertisement No. 2 - The Malaysia Airlines System (MAS) advertisement popped out and blocked the site contents.
Same thing happened when I browsed Berita Harian Online:
Berita Harian annoying advertisement - The MAS advertisement popped out and blocked the site contents.
…and The Star Online:
The Star Online annoying advertisement - The U Mobile advertisement popped out, and then the MAS advertisement popped out on top of it.
Lastly, from Utusan Online. For me, this is the most annoying and ‘menyakitkan hati’ advertisement ever. It is a Nissan Slyphy advertisement. Why is it annoying? Because it is a video! AND it is auto-played! We are forced to watch the video and hear the shocking audio!

Yes, we can close the popping out advertisement and stop the auto playing video. But, internet is not as same as television. In television, viewers doesn’t give input, they just watch whatever output broadcasted by the tv channel. While on internet, users gives input and choose whatever they want to do or see or listen, and hate it so much when they are forced to do or see or listen to something. Think about it, make internet a better place.. wahaha.. I’m just kidding about the last sentence.. Sounds like Bono U2 for internet
